Former Cybersecurity Expert Turns Criminal
Here is another ugly lesson in “be careful who you trust, even in cybersecurity”. We have seen malicious individuals, deceitful vendors, and products which were poorly managed create victims across the globe.
Trust is the backbone of cybersecurity.
Know that there are unscrupulous people and organizations out there. Conduct due diligence and don’t engage or do business with organizations, products, or people that are not trustworthy.
We must not accept or reward such behaviors. Betrayal of trust must be dealt with by legal and social means. This person will serve time in jail, but we need to build a culture where such ideas are so frowned upon that people will not consider them. This is one person, but how many more are out there that we don't know about, who are victimizing others for their own personal benefit?
