Creating Digital Artwork : Where to begin
Hey everyone, so today I want to create a 5 step post basically outlining how to begin creating digital art, as well as offer some tips. This is a breif article, but still, I hope it may be useful to someone 🙂 Let's begin with step 1.
1. Choose the right software

There are many different software options available, but some of the most popular ones include Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Corel Painter, and Procreate. Each software has its own strengths and weaknesses, so it's important to choose one that is best suited for your needs. For example some of the pros with using procreate would be it's highly responsive brush technology & it's inherent interface with customizable tools, however some of the cons would be that it's features are only optimized for ipad pro along with a steep learning curve.
2. Use the right tools
Once you have chosen your software, it's important to use the right tools. This includes selecting the right brush, pen, or pencil, and adjusting the opacity and size of your tools as needed. It's also important to learn how to use layers effectively, as this can help you create more complex and detailed artwork. I've used up to 10 layers just to create a set of eyes before! It's an extremely useful tool for creating depth in an illustration.
3. Apply the right effects
One of the best things about digital artwork is the ability to apply a wide range of effects to your work. These effects can help you create unique and visually appealing artwork that stands out from the crowd. Some of the most popular effects include light and shadow effects, texture effects, and color grading effects.
4. Choose the right music
Music can play a big role in setting the mood and tone of your artwork. When choosing music, it's important to consider the style and genre of your artwork. For example, if you are creating a piece of abstract art, you may want to choose music that is more experimental and unique, using a wide array of instruments or sounds.
