The Lighthouse Keeper

I’m doing well, Steve. Thank you for checking in.

The office without you feels like a harbor after the lighthouse keeper steps out. The ships still move, the water is still calm, but everyone glances at the tower to be sure the light is on. It is. We’re keeping it on for you.

Lagos has been kind this week. The sun didn’t burn out anyone’s patience. Rain came in the evening, cleaned the air, and left before traffic could cry. I closed the three tasks you left on my desk. The vendor paid, the client signed, and the team said, “Oga’s system is working even when Oga is resting.”

I hope you’re doing well over there too. I hope your flight was smooth and your bed feels like forgiveness after a long week. Rest is not a break from leadership. It’s the fuel for it. So rest well, sir.

_Que sera, sera._ Whatever will be, will be. And right now, what is, is good. No wahala here. No confusion. Just your people doing the work with your voice in our heads.

The fort is steady. The name is clean. Your seat is warm, waiting.

Come back when you’re ready. We’re not going anywhere.
