It was when the sun was retiring for the day that I came across Bomber sitting danger-close in front of a large bowl full of meat. I called out to remind the most well-behaved dog of the family that I gat ma eyes on him. You know na, when a dog and fleshly cut goat meat are not that far from each other, anything can happen; either the dog devour most of the meat, or the dog vanquish most of the meat.

Just then, my mom emerged from behind the kitchen and reassured me that Bomber will not touch the meat. She stated that Bomber, the faithful dog can even be used to guard the meat in our absence.

Just then, a fowl strayed in the direction of the bowl of goat meat and Bomb flashed his teeth of steel amidst several thunderous barks. The intruder fled in the opposite direction and I was impressed.

I went inside the house and it was barely a minute before a funny outburst of chaos disturbed the tranquillity of the friendly evening weather. I stepped out to investigate and lo, it came from outside our big gates. I leapt out.

What did I see in the distance? A dog with a stolen chunk of meat secured within his teeth was engaged in a race of survival with an elderly woman and her children trying to catch up from behind. I no lie, I let out a reflex burst of laughter and later remembered Bomber, guardian of goat meat. I dashed inside to access the situation.

I switched to ninja mode and wanted to catch the situation unnoticed. My tiptoeing must have fooled only myself as the vigilant dog who obviously chose his stupid duty over me - his caring Lord, turned with fire in his eyes to challenge whoever dared come close to the meat. The over-zealous fool almost redesign my left foot but thank God for my guardian angels that keep me from dashing even my foot against a stone.

It wasn't the thunderous bark from the loyal dog that got the attention of the rest of my family, it was my scream of shock. When the dust cleared, they all let out a reflex burst of laughter.

I turned to find my square root. It must have been the eve of Christmas, several years ago.
