3 Harmful Habits to Subtract From Your Life in 2023
With each year comes self-reflection. As a part of this, it's important to consider what you want to add to your life in the coming year, and most importantly, any harmful habits you want to subtract from your life. You cannot have one without doing the other.
That said, here are 3 harmful habits to consider "subtracting" from your life in 2023.
#1: Remove Morning Notifications
One of the worst things you can do is start your morning by avidly checking your notifications. Top tip: Don't touch your phone for the first 30-45 minutes after waking up. Why would you want to start your morning stressed, anxious and "on-edge"? It's not worth it. Give yourself the chance to start your day distraction-free.
#2: Avoid High Carbs, Sugar and Processed Foods
High carbs, refined sugar and processed foods are no good for you. Period. This includes breads, pastas, pastries, biscuits, cookies, burgers, deep-fried foods, soft drinks; you know the drill. Avoid these foods throughout most of the week; your body will thank you for it.
#3: Stop Wasting Your Mornings
Your mornings afford a great opportunity for you to have some time to look after yourself before you go about your day. Don't gravitate to your screens or sleepwalk your way to the coffee shop for your morning cappuccino. Spend the first 30 minutes of your day on nothing else but "you". Journal for 5 minutes, do some morning push-ups; do whatever you need to do to keep yourself in good form mentally and physically.
Avoid another wasted morning.
