If you haven't seen my introduction post about Fantom meme season start there as it'll give you all the background you need for this.

Season 2 is over!

So how did we do in Season Two

Well as you would remember if you've been following along after picking up nothing for Season One as LP were not counted (see https://www.bulbapp.io/p/d3213e31-8235-45ef-95b4-c3382eb1d59d/fantom-meme-season-update-3?s_id=5a767a76-f0fd-42fb-a2ec-b7d6979f11f8) this time LPs were counted.

Using https://dune.com/0xkhmer/memeseason2024 we can see we've qualified for both our HOOPS and TANGO positions.

We would've done better if we'd just stuck with the winner, HOOPS, as most of our funds were in TANGO and they didn't sustain their early performance.

Overall we're probably about $400 down on our initial investment, even with incentives. So... yeah.. it's been a terrible financial decision so far.

But decent content and we've made a few friends along the way. Onwards we go...

Memecoin Stats Attack

Volume collapsed a few days out from the end of Season Two. Marketcap has maintained though, which means liquidity hasn't fled... yet.

Marketcap

It's still much the same case we saw last time out. You have 3 tiers with significant gaps between each. The top 2. 3-5. And the rest.

Volume

Overall

Volume is such a different story. As we saw from our final results; it really mattered what place your memecoin/s got in relation to your rewards. It's basically just fSONIC and HOOPS in volume with sGOAT a very distant 3rd.

Trend

We can see the same story in the trend data, though interesting to see fSONIC fall off steeply and HOOPS continue and even sGOAT maintain steady volume.

Analysing LPs

We have two qualifying positions in Season 2. We've hitched our wagon to HOOPS and TANGO.

HOOPS Harmonics

Despite the overall market drawdown, HOOPS has been a pretty steady performer in terms of returns. Re
Yes we're still down. A lot. But everything is.

WFTM/TANGO

TANGO has been less profitable. As with HOOPS we're down overall but the returns have trended lower.
Voting rewards (veEQUAL) have been slightly better than pool incentives on Beethoven X but they're not always the best pick each voting round (whereas you just get the rewards regardless of your vote on the HOOPS LP).

On a sidenote we picked up a nice little bonus as part of the TANGO airdrop for Base and Fantom LPs. Double what we made from the memecoin season.

This is the kind of memecoin project you love to see.
It's a thoughtful defi education effort. Very well worth the time to read the blog and the TG and Discord (see website for links) are great as well.
If you're interested in the Fantom ecosystem, especially leading up to the Sonic launch, you want to be following these guys.
