It is forbidden to take protein in diabetes due to these two reasons.


Kidney problem:

If your blood sugar is always high, then you should take a low protein diet, because high sugar increases the risk of kidney failure. High protein diet is forbidden in any kidney disease. In such a situation, if the sugar is high, then the pressure on the protein will be in two ways. First due to high sugar and second due to high protein. High uric acid:

If you are suffering from the problem of high uric acid along with diabetes, then protein diet is not right for you. Uric acid increases in the body due to not filtering the kidneys properly and this is the reason why it is forbidden to eat protein in uric acid too. Arthritis is caused by uric acid. This can cause unbearable pain in your joints.

Therefore, if you are a patient of sugar, then along with regular checking of your sugar, you should keep checking uric acid, high cholesterol, BP, kidney profile etc. from time to time.
